Nicole Caro is a licensed esthetician at Caro Skin Care and yoga teacher in the Mandeville/Covington area. She specializes in acne treatments, relaxing facials, brow tinting and shaping, and Brazilian bikini waxes. Her yoga style blends her training in Viniyoga, chanting and breath work along with vinyasa flow and a love of Kundalini.
In her free time she enjoys catching up with close friends, walks on the lakefront, and anything to satisfy her immense sweet tooth. Nicole lives in Big Branch with her husband Scott, daughters Dahlia and Mila and 3 fur babies Cookie Cake, Chi-Chi and Oliver.
1993 - She began practicing yoga with a rented Jane Fonda VCR tape which she recorded onto a cassette tape to continue practicing at home. Around that same time, her skin began breaking out which led her to learn about skin care.
1999 - She found her first yogi tribe at the Yoga School of Covington learning from Becky Gelatt, Tara Engeran and other talented teachers. Moving to New Orleans brought her to a unique ballet inspired yoga style taught by Alvina Haverkamp.
2004 - Life’s distractions took her off the yoga path until afternoon yoga dates with her now husband resparked her passion for practice.
2006 - After graduating from Aveda Institute of Covington, she began working for an Aveda concept salon and spa where she practiced the art of Ayurveda in her skin care treatments.
2008 - Moving on to another prominent spa where she was given the opportunity to learn from various product lines including Eminence, DermAware, SkinCeuticals and more.
2012 - Her teacher and now friend Janine Mejia inspired her to pursue a 200 hour yoga teacher training where she went back to her roots at the Yoga School of Covington. There she learned a more therapeutic style called Viniyoga from the Krishnamacharya lineage. These teachings brought her a deeper understanding of Ayurveda in body, mind and spirit.
2013 - Previous car accidents lead to a labral tear in her right hip joint. Nicole began evolving her yoga practice to heal and focus on poses and sequences that her body was able to do instead of what she could no longer do. She found joy in pranayama (breathing practices) ,chanting, meditation and chair yoga.
2016 - She began her own skincare business in a quaint little house in Old Mandeville. Here she began treating severe acne with the Face Reality Acne Program. Moving from employee to entrepreneur was a big leap of faith but with the help of family, friends, clients and online scheduling she has been able to balance raising a family, teaching and skin care.
